Terms and Conditions
Effective October 20, 2026
These terms apply to bmaap.org, the website of BMAAP — the Black-American Muslim Archival Access Project — a program of The Floating Freedom Foundation. Please use the site respectfully and in accordance with applicable law.
Our project and committee applications
BMAAP is developing a community-driven initiative to document, preserve, and share Black American Muslim history. Project plans, committee roles, and opportunities may change as the initiative develops.
Submitting a committee application expresses interest. It does not guarantee selection, employment, compensation, membership in the Foundation, or authority to speak or act for BMAAP. Please provide accurate information and only information you are entitled to share. A donation is not required to apply or be considered.
Using the website
You may browse the site, share links, and use its forms for their stated purposes. Do not submit unlawful or harmful material, impersonate another person, interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, or misuse another person’s personal information. We may restrict access or remove submissions when needed to address misuse, safety, or legal obligations.
Copyright and historical materials
Unless an item says otherwise, BMAAP’s original website text, design, and branding are protected by copyright and other applicable rights. Other images and materials may belong to their respective creators or rights holders. “All rights reserved” does not limit uses permitted by law, including fair use, or rights in public-domain materials.
Contact us before reproducing material beyond what the law or an item’s stated license permits. Please preserve attribution and any rights information. Historical materials may contain incomplete information or language reflecting their time; a material’s inclusion does not mean BMAAP endorses every view expressed.
Submitting information or offering archival materials
You retain your rights in the information you submit. By applying, you allow us to use your application to review and administer participation and to contact you for that purpose, as described in our Privacy Policy. An application does not give us permission to publish your personal story, image, or materials.
The committee form is not an archival deposit agreement. Please contact us before sending original documents, recordings, photographs, or private collections. Any future deposit, loan, digitization, access restriction, or publication permission will require a separate agreement with the appropriate rights holder.
Donations and third-party services
